Chimney Cleaning
We clean both fireplace and stove chimneys.
We first drape the area around the fireplace or stove with drop clothes and then wheel in our 30 gallon drum vacuum to capture any minute particles of dust that might try to enter your home.
We scrub the chimney and all its parts to remove the creosote which is the fire hazard we are concerned with. Once it is clean we inspect it for any damage that may have occurred over the years.
Then we present you with a completed safety report that assures you we have visually inspected all parts of your system and found them to fire worthy unless noted on the report. We also take digital pictures of the chimney, the crown and any other areas that may need attention. We either show those pictures to you in the comfort of your home or email them to you. This is our way of taking you up on the roof with us and looking at the concerns without you having the risk of being on top of your house. While we cannot guarantee you will not have a chimney fire, unless you invite us in to clean it after every fire because how you burn it is not under our control. But chances are you will be safe for another season.
Chimney Relining
YOUR FIREPLACE INSERT CAN KILL YOU!
In our 27 years in business the only fireplace inserts we have found safely installed are the ones we have sold and installed. Most are just stuffed into a fireplace. The danger is hidden out of sight and out of mind...until a chimney fire erupts. We routinely remove anywhere from 30-60 gallons of creosote from insert chimneys. ½-3/4 of a gallon of creosote is all it takes to start a good chimney fire.
IF YOU HAVE AN INSERT OR KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT DOES WE HAVE A BROCHURE THAT EXPLAINS THE PROBLEMS WITH INSERTS.
The way inserts are commonly installed is asking for serious trouble with devastating results. Two of our insert customers reported having two chimney fires each in their units over the years. It is inevitable-if you have an insert you will eventually have a chimney fire-unless it is properly installed and maintained. We can take care of that chore for you and keep you safe.
If you have had a chimney sweep come and clean your chimney and not remove the insert THEY DID NOT DO THEIR JOB! To properly clean the chimney of an insert the insert has to be pulled. There is no way around it.
Properly installed an insert will have it's own chimney connected to the insert and exiting from the top of the surrounding chimney. This way there is no place for creosote to hide and is easily removed without having to remove the insert each time it is cleaned.
